SHIVA'S
BODY

Most people when cosplaying Shiva
make a white body suit. I didn’t want to do that due feeling
restricted and hot. I decided to use white tights for the lower
half and paint my upper body.
For the tights, I used a blue fabric marker to draw a design and
filling it in. I was running out of marker
and it was starting to look streaky, so I finished up the feet area
with blue dye. I painted silver glitter
fabric glue around the thigh design.

For
the upper body, I used a liquid body paint (by Ben Nye) that doesn't
smudge when dry. I also used a variety of Ben Nye makeup to
complete the look of Shiva’s face. Cream makeup (white) is
excellent for the face; the kind of makeup that clown's use as a
base. It's not greasy compared to the colors. I used the
colors once for my Ultima cosplay; it wasn't that great but the cream
white is wonderful. You kind of have to experiment. Also
take into consideration if you will be outside in the sun and sweating,
or if you will be sitting inside most of the time.

The
top half of the bikini was first started off with foam bra cups that
were spray painted blue. I then painted silver glitter on the
cups, along with fabric gems. After the cups were complete, I
taped them on the mannequin. Getting the idea from Katie Bair's
Shiva tutorial, I used clear Silicone caulking (used for kitchen sinks
and bathtubs) for the "ice." I taped the cups to a mannequin,
then applied whole silicone tube over one of the cups and molded it to
look like ice. Before it was dry, I sprinkled glitter over the
silicone. DO NOT APPLY WET SILICONE AGAINST YOUR SKIN!!! IT
CAN DEFORM YOUR SKIN! That is why you need to use a mannequin so
that the silicone can cure over the course of 24-48 hours.

Initially,
I was just going to tape the cups on me, but I decided that it wouldn’t
enough support. I took a strapless bra and spray painted it
blue. Using hot glue, I attached the cups for complete support.

The tricky part is that the industrial silicone cannot adhere to spirit
gum to stick against your body. So, you will have to do either of
these two things. Either A, attach the bra cups to the bra with
the silicone formed and dry...then safety pink it to one of the straps
from the inside of the ice. Or B, attach the bra cups to the bra
before applying the silicone. That way when you apply the
silicone to the mannequin, you can get the bra strap in there while its
wet. The choice is yours. I did option A since the silicone
was already dry when I figured out that the spirit gum wasn't working
for me.

I
swear my husband isn't groping me...lol.
