OLD COMPUTER GAMES
Who
played these? Who remembers these? Good old Sierra games!
These games made me
move from SNES to the computer games...it was hard
to turn back to console games for awhile.
You can still download
these games and play them through DOS box.
King's
Quest I-VI
King's
Quest was an awesome adventure game. In every King's Quest, it
dealt with the same royal family,
first with King Graham then
eventually trickling down to Prince Alexander throughout the
series. You also
got to meet the Queen and Princess
Rosella. The best game out of all of them was King's Quest
VI.
After that game, the series released a 'cartoon' version of
Princess Rosella in KQVII in which the game
bombed. Sierra was
bought out and the creators retired (Ken and Roberta Williams) and then
there
were no more great Sierra games. But, to this day, there
are fan games of the King's Quest series that
continue the story and
give it that same 'adventure' feel to each game.
Quest
for Glory I-IV
So
you want to be a hero? This was a very fun RPG game for the
computer.
It's not your typical RPG with a group of characters and so
forth. You
get to choose from a Fighter, Theif or Magic User and go on a long
quest. What was cool about these games is that you could import
your
character from the previous game as you continued with the series, that
way you wouldn't lose your talent points that you built up.
Laura Bow and the Dagger of Amon Ra
This
game was great! First of all, the main character was a
female...and a redhead! Second, it takes
place in the 20's, so
you have the flapper era which sets a great mood to a murder
mystery! This was
my favorite Sierra game by far!

Eco Quest I & II
Again,
this game was an 'adventure' game, but with an environmental twist to
it.
I'm not really an environmentalist, but it's a fun game and
great for everyone.

Willy Beamish
This
game is like Home Alone meets Sierra games. The main character is
a kid who gets into trouble,
but you end up saving the city. It's
very humorous and the situations are great. The game plays like
all other Sierra games.
Oh no! More
Lemmings!
Ok,
this game is the only non-Sierra game on this page, but its still an
awesome game.
I'm not a sick person, but it is pretty funny when
the lemmings fall and splat.
The
Sierra logo
The
Sierra logo was based off of 'Half-Dome', which is a monument in
Yosemite National Park in
the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Ken and
Roberta Williams, who owned and created many Sierra games,
lived in the
area close to Yosemite at the time of the Sierra era. Now they
are retired, and live between
Seattle, Mexico and France.
