I'm really excited to say that I have a picture in the cosplay magazine "Anicoz." It is a feature article about Anime Los Angeles 2008. Click the link to view the article.
Also, I haven't updated my art page in awhile with new pictures, but I think I'll wait until I redo my website. I'm changing the look of it, but I won't have it live until after AX...maybe a month after or so. But below I have a pic that I did not too long ago. Needless to say, I'm still rusty on my art, but I'm getting back into it.
On a side note, I will be at AX for one day instead of the whole deal since I just recently started a new job and can't get time off. I wasn't registered for the masq this year anyways, so it kind of worked out. But I will be attending Blizzcon, So Cal Summer gathering, and if I can help it, VGL concert during the Comic Con. I want to do one more con this year, probably toward the end of the year though. We will see.

NOT BLONDE...MOVED
I went back to my red hair again. I miss my blonde hair but it was for the better. My hair was getting too fried and breaking pretty fast. Although, I do love my red hair...but I feel weird now since I was platinum before.
On a side note, I moved out of Orange County and back to Lake Elsinore again. I love my new place and Elsinore is more of my style. It's more relaxing inland and I have way more space, plus its cheaper. I do commute to OC everyday for my job at Juicy, but even this year there is not alot of commuters compared to 2 years ago. I think peeps aren't driving much due to gas and high price tolls.
Another thing that's cool is that I interviewed for Cosmoplay recently. Cosmoplay is an Italian online magazine that comes out every 2-3 months. I never heard of it until someone from it contacted me. I guess they found out about me due to the fact that I'm linked to more Italian cosplayers than Americans! lol!

AX 08 COSTUMES
Well, this year I will not be in the AX masquerade. Thank goodness; last year was very exhausting! I probably will enter for 09, but that's another story.
For AX this year, I will be cosplaying as Elza from FFXII and the Succubus from World of Warcraft. First, you may be wondering who is Elza? Well, she's located in a seaport, a side character really. I can't remember the port off the top of my head, but she does have a few lines in the game. Also, I know WOW is not Anime, but there is a few WOW cosplayers that attend AX, so I thought it might be fun to sport WOW. I need to support my class, the 'lock. lol. I figured that if Blizzcon happens again this year I'll be able to bring that costume to it as well.
A side note, I've been taking a Japanese class. Last class was the first class that all of the notes were in Hiragana. Talk about a struggle. Trying to read the Hiragana and then trying to figure out what it means. haha.

BACK FROM ANIME LA
Ok, I haven't updated my site in awhile, but in the next few days I will be doing some major updates! So sorry!
I had some good and bad experiences at Anime LA this year. First off, I LOVE how the con was bigger this year...it actually had a convention center to it instead of just a hotel. This being said, more people attended so it made it a lot more fun. This year I also stayed at the hotel, so it made it easier for me to get ready and I had a lot more fun. Plus, I saw my friend Liz and Josh from Deadpepper.com! And, I got to talk with Onyx a bit more too! :)
The masquerade was a bit disappointing for me...here's why. They started the masquerade late; I believe they were having technical difficulties. So when the masquerade finally started, the audience was more then ready to see all the skits. For the first 10 masquerade entrants, the audio was screwed up...so when the cosplayers went out on stage and realized it wasn't their audio, they froze on stage and walked off. It happened more then a couple of times for certain groups. Poor cosplayers! I felt horrible for them! Thank goodness it didn't happen to me. When it was my turn to go on stage, my husband and a stage ninja were helping me onstage. The music already started to play; my husband was telling me to turn...I was going to hit the backstage curtain but I didn't hear anything but my music. As I was going onstage, 2 of my spikes from my backpiece scraped against the backstage curtain and busted off! I didn't know it until after the performance, thank goodness, otherwise I would have given a crappy performance. Needless to say, I was upset that my backpiece was not all there for the performance...you can see it in the acparadise video. BUT, I can't have perfection all the time...we are only human. Luckily, all of my pictures for my photoshoots will turn out good since all of my backpiece is there! lol!
I really thought since my backpiece didn't have all my spikes on it, they would doc me for any sort of craftsmanship, or even performance since it busted off when I was coming on stage. But, to my surprise, I won 3 awards! I really couldn't believe it since that all happened! I was awarded:
Persistence of Stitchery Award (excellence in propmaking)
Best in Class (presentation): Individual
Best Craftsmanship: Headpiece
Wow! I still can't believe it!

NEW COSPLAY
I'm very excited for Anime LA. I will be cosplaying as Soceress Edea for the con. What's even cooler, it will be my first 'group' skit. I'm going to be doing a duo with the cosplayer Anele; it will be a lot of fun! I've been working on Edea's headpiece now for about a month. It will take a while to finish that thing up.
I'm still wondering if there will be a Cosmode Photoshoot this year. Last year I was going to go as Siren, but I was really sick and my harp wasn't finished yet. If there will be one, I will make a small cosplay for the shoot, since the rest of my costumes are a pain in the butt to transport.

ON THE ROAD TO NEW ARTWORK
Well, I'm starting to get serious about my artwork again. Yesterday I started re-visiting a piece of mine I started awhile back. Hopefully it will be finished the next time I get to work on it again...maybe within a week or two. Also, I did a photomanipulation of one of my Ultima cosplays - you probably saw it when you hit the enter page.
On another note, I really love the new Harry Potter movie. I've seen it 4 times now. That's pretty sickening. My new favorite character is Luna, but I still think Harry is awesome. I started to read all of the books a couple of weeks ago; I'm almost done with book 4. I know, I'm lame for not starting right away.
I'm going to be starting my new costume next month. I'm starting to collect the mats for it; Jacob and I are going to cosplay together this time. We will be cosplaying as Squall and Sorceress Edea from FFVIII. I STILL want to do Ultimecia...yes it was going to be my first cosplay and it keeps getting pushed back and back. But, in my defense, I do not want to do another pair of wings right now...I'm burned out of doing something with loads of feathers. I want to at least try to get this costume finished before another Cosmode photoshoot, but we'll see.
One last bit, I really do want to go to the So Cal gathering in August, but I can't get it off of work...I'm bummed.

FINALLY RECOVERING FROM AX
So I have a couple of things to say about AX this year. Well, one of the great things that happened was placing 2nd overall in the masquerade! There were so many great people in the masquerade and I met some awesome people, like Oynx (Trinity Blood skit with the blue wings) and Pink Spyder. My skit is on Youtube if you want to check it out:
I was very happy to hang out with Miss Deep and her husband at AX as well; they are awesome people. (hug!) I was also happy to see Liz from Deadpepper.com; I only got to see her for a moment but I'm still glad to see her again.
Another huge plus is that I had a photoshoot with Kyle Johnson from Cosplay.com. One thing I was bummed about was that it was really windy on Saturday, so my wig kept flying in my face for the photoshoot; my poor husband kept combing my hair for the shoot. I ended up getting a new wig from the Cosworx booth for the masquerade.
Some bad things about AX...I was staying at the Queen Mary first off. Although it was not far from the con, it still was not walking distance. That meant I had to haul my Siren and Ultima outfit to the con and get ready there. It sucked. Also, I was really sick the whole time. I think I was so stressed out about the masquerade (and working finishing my costume!) that I let down my immune system and got totally sick. After my masquerade appointments or photoshoots, I pretty much went back to the hotel and slept/rested. I really didn't get to enjoy the con/viewings/gaming this year. Sigh.

COSPLAY.COM & JAPANLA EVENT ON JUNE 2ND
I'm so excited for the event coming up! I was trying to figure out what costume to wear; I'm going to wear a previously worn costume to the event. I think I know but it'll be a surprise! The event is in a week......
On another note, Ultima is looking beautiful! I can't wait to wear it for AX this year!

RANDOMNESS
Ok...So yeah...Well lets see. I've been sick for the last couple of days...must of gotten the flu bug or something. I've just been sleeping a lot and playing FFXII since I'm kinda bed-ridden at the moment.
This next week I'm excited since I got my feathers in, so that means I can finish up my Ultima wings. AX is coming up so close, I just have to finish some details now. I'm still trying to register for the Masquerade. It keeps on being pushed back...so I'm obsessively, patiently waiting. It make me tired. Sigh.

ANIME INSIDER -

Here's the Anime Insider article about my Shiva costume! I submitted info about my costume and they re-wrote it to make it sound better. Believe me, I'm really not a great writer. ;) Article is here.
Also, soon I will put up tutorials on Siren and Shiva, since I've gotten a lot of questions about how I made my props. I will be posting it in the next couple of weeks. I have a lot of photo documentation too to help out.
